Bolt seals are strong locking devices that act as a "one time useable padlock".

Today, most bolt seals being manufactured by ISO 17712:2013 certified manufacturers are classified as "high security seals", which is one of several requirements a bolt seal must meet, in order to be compliant with C-TPAT.

Bolt seals are applied without the use of tools, but will require a bolt cutter to be removed. Some bolt seals are manufactured with an extra hardened bolt, which prevents them from being removed by a bolt cutter. Instead these types of "super hardened" bolt seals are removed by a specifically designed "breaker bar".

Other types of bolt seals are manufactured with a flexible bolt, rather than the traditional rigid steel bolt. A flexible bolt brings a lot of advantages that are unique to the flexible bolt seal. Flexible bolt seals can be removed with either a bolt cutter or a heavy duty cable cutter. A flexible bolt, once removed, will not penetrate and puncture truck tires, and therefore many larger truck companies or large distribution centers prefer a flexible bolt. The flexible bolt pin is somewhat easier to remove by use of a bolt cutter or cable cutter, and therefore is the preferred bolt seal for high volume usage situations, where terminal operators are required to remove many bolt seals each day. Flexible bolt seals are also very useful in a situation where a locking latch on a truck trailer door has been bent out of shape, preventing a rigid bolt seal from being applied. In this situation a flexible bolt seal is much easier to apply.

Flexiklick is the name for Mega Fortris' flexible bolt seal. It is available in a wide range of colors, and laser engraved bar coding is available. The Flexiklick features an extra length locking pin, which is extremely useful when sealing "roll down trailer doors" that typically require extra length bolt pins.

Klicker is the name of Mega Fortris' most popular bolt seal. It features dual numbering on pin and cylinder as well as an oval shaped 360 degree anti-spin mechanism. Bolt and cylinder are connected by a plastic connector, which makes it very easy for the user to retrieve the same-numbered cylinder and bolt, as the user applies the seal.

Mega Bolt Lock is one of Mega Fortris super hardened bolt seals. This seal finds use on rail applications but also truck- and ocean transport applications. The seal is available in a semi-hardened version that can be removed with a bolt cutter, but it is also available in a super hardened version, where an electric grinder is required to remove the bolt.

The container bolt lock is among the most traditional bolt seals from Mega Fortris. As all Mega Fortris' bolt seals, the Container Bolt Lock is also C-TPAT compliant, but offers less features than the Klicker and Flexiklick. This makes the Container Bolt Lock a very cost competitive solution for truck- and ocean applications.

The Mega Container seal is a very popular bolt seal. Like the Klicker, it features a plastic covered bolt and cylinder. The Mega Container Seal features a 180 degree anti spin mechanism. Bolt and Cylinder are not connected by a plastic connector, like the Klicker. All Mega Fortris' bolt seal products are C-TPAT compliant, they are available in a wide range of colors, and feature high tech laser marking. Bar code marking is available for all of them.
